The Tasmanian Government provides free business advice to Tasmanian small businesses (and anyone thinking of starting) via the Tasmanian Business Advice Service.

Experienced advisors can help you with a wide variety of topics, whether you haven’t started yet – or you’ve been operating for years. Visit their website to find out more and register.

NILS Tasmania Microbusiness Loans

NILS Tasmania have available MicroBusiness Loans of up to $3000 to help you start a new business or boost an existing one.

Business Tasmania

The Business Tasmania website, provided by the Department of State Growth, has a wealth of information and resources for starting and managing a business in Tasmania.

They also have a heap of information on funding and grant opportunities available to businesses in Tasmania.

They also provide information on mental health and training and learning opportunities for small business.

Digital Ready for Business

If you are a Tasmanian business owner, manager, marketer or representative you are eligible for up to 4 hours of Free Digital Coaching via the Tasmanian Government’s Digital Ready Program.

Their website also has loads of fantastic resources on topics such as ecommerce, social media, SEO, websites, analytics and cyber security – all designed to help Tasmanian small business take the next step online.

Self Employment Assistance

Provided through the Australian Government’s Workforce Australia Network, the Self-Employment Assistance program (formerly NEIS) is designed to help you turn your business idea or existing small business into a viable business.

With a range of flexible services provided by local Tasmanian providers, participants may also be eligible for financial support.

Business.gov.au

Provided by the Australian Government the Business.gov.au website has a whole host of great resources, tools and templates to support new and existing businesses in Australia.

You’ll want to check out their great new Business Plan Tool as well as the Australian Business Licence and Information Service (ABLIS) to investigate any licences, regulations and compliance requirements you may need to consider.

Beyond Blue for business owners

Beyond Blue’s NewAccess for Small Business Owners is a guided self-help mental health coaching program. It’s free, confidential and convenient.

Over 6 sessions, your mental health coach will work with you to manage stress and overwhelm using straightforward problem-solving approaches.
